Chip repair

A customer related to data recovery has contacted us with a request of data read-out of a damaged chip. They needed to read out a serial number mentioned in the ROM memory of the chip. We decapsulated the IC in a way that the die is exposed. Next step was to set the chip up into a probe station. Using micro probe needles we were able to make electrical contact to the silicon. A test socket and some software made it possible to read-out the data, resulting in a succesfull data recovery case.
